Hello everyone! Today’s “Inspiration” is for Rockland Ranch!

While I was in college (and my husband, who was only a boyfriend then, was on his mission), I spent a couple of summers working just north of Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the Grand Teton National Park. This area is absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the whole wide world!

Just south of Jackson, near Star Valley, Wyoming, is an area that is every bit as beautiful as the national park, but a lot less busy from tourists. Near Grey’s River and the Salt River it’s still those glorious, rugged, wild mountains, and the folks who live and ranch there are some of the toughest humans on the planet. They have to be tough because although beautiful, farming and raising beef at the top of the world is definitely not a hobby.

The snow probably gets ten feet deep in those valleys some years. Hollister is a town I made up, but that’s the area it would be in and the people I’ve met from that area are just as wonderful as the fictional Rockland folks are.

Even though it’s south of the national parks, there are still a bunch of dude ranches and places to visit, and it’s well worth it if you get the chance.

Wyoming is definitely God’s country!
